Welcome to the very first issue of Innovators at the Intersection. Many of you knew us as
Diversity in Action, where for more than a decade we celebrated diverse voices in STEAM. That foundation is still at the heart of what we do. But looking forward, innovation thrives at the crossroads of identity, creativity and technology, and that’s the story we’re here to tell.

Innovation today happens where science meets art, where culture shapes technology, where diverse perspectives collide to create something new. Innovators at the Intersection reflects that evolution: celebrating the people who are reimagining what’s possible, where the intersections of knowledge and creativity spark new possibilities.

 To do this, we are embracing the digital landscape and broadening our reach. In addition to the magazine, there’s the accompanying “Innovators at the Intersection” podcast, launched in early 2025, that
offers candid conversations and unexpected journeys that are disrupting industries and shaping the future. Each episode explores what drives today’s changemakers.

In addition, our multiplatform approach extends to an amplified social media presence where we aim to build community and foster authentic connections. We invite our readers to engage with us via article highlights, podcast clips and other content where we can inspire dialogue.

In this inaugural Fall issue, our cover features pioneering media artist Refik Anadol, who uses technology and artificial intelligence in new and exciting ways that challenge the status quo. We highlight women working in and leading the construction industry, how biohacking can improve health and wellness, a new smart tattoo that works as a wearable medical device, plus much more.
